This Week on Cats in Mechs

These last weeks have been centered on our Power-up Overhaul. We’ve reinvented what our powerups are and there has been a whirlwind of activity changing all of our fancy effects and powers into actual items called FANGS (Functional, Analog, Neocortical, Guidance, System) which the player can actually equip onto their mech.
I’ve mostly been working in the UI department, fixing all the hud changes needed to go along with this overhaul. Fang buttons are now context sensitive. Offensive Fangs appear around the enemy reticles while personal and buff Fangs appear around the player’s own mech.
I’ve also been doing a lot of work in the garage; both updating our item cards to properly display all the stats of the new Fang items, and adding an item filter system so a player can quickly get a glance of all items that fit in a particular slot on the mech.
Of course, there’s also been a serious of miscellaneous bug fixes along the way.
